Welcome Mario, I would agree that MS is the best since 2001, however it's a big call to say he is the best of all time.... there are so many greats that have driven over the years... and we can't compare these drivers on a level playing field.

But that's just my thoughts on the subject.

Welcome aboard, Mario.

I'd have to go with Fangio. He won almost 50% of his starts and took 5 championships in 7 season's raced. And he did it all in his 40's!

I like your style Mario.  Straight in with a controversial post.  That's the way to do it.

Unfortunately you are wrong but keep giving us your opinions.  Schumacher wouldn't even make my top three Ferrari drivers.  Fangio 24 wins from 49 starts and didn't start a GP until he was 39.  Ascari won two straight championships and set a record of 9 consectuve wins that wasn't broken for nearly 50 years.  And number one is Gilles Villeneuve.  Anything anyone else says is wrong.

Of course if you go back before the world championship started you have to add Tazio Nuvolari.  Enzo Ferrari himself had Nuvolari and Villeneuve as his favourite drivers.

Hi Mario and welcome, love the post, it's after my own heart. Who's to say that you are wrong ? If you have personal best driver, stick with it and up the rest of'em. Schumey is my no 1 too, but I agree with Rom too, you can't compare drivers from different era's. I think any driver (except 2 of them) who become WDC are worthy of it.

I'm betting Damon Hill and Alonso, maybe Jacques

I went to liking MS at Benneton to not at Ferrari
to liking and missing him when he was forced out,
I mean retired

yeah guys but FANGIO raced in the era where as #1 in ya team meant ya #2 COULD NOT pass - ask Sir Stirling MOSS - and if ya car broke down you called in the #2 and took over his car - again ask stirling about that

ayrton SENNA stands above them all and by a wide margin at that

You can't fault Dare's logic.  Pick two Scotsmen.  It just has to be right.

WOW ! Mario. We don't have too many MS fans here but a lot of respect for him as a good driver and a x times WDC.
But come on all time great ....  It has to be Giles.
There are too many of them and have driven in diff era's and diff cars technically.
Don't Fight Forces ! Use them
