David Leslie and Richard Lloyd killed in plane crash

Former British Touring Car driver David Leslie and Richard Lloyd boss of Richard Lloyd Racing have been killed with three other people when the plane they were flying in crashed on the approach to Biggin Hill.

Leslie was a successful single seater driver in his younger days but was one of those drivers who always produced the results but could never get a decent budget.  He was European FF2000 champion and in the famous 1983 F3 season which Senna & Brundle dominated Leslie won the first race of the season in a Magnum.

I think if I was a Scottish racing driver I would avoid flying.  First DC had his crash then McRae now Leslie.

I used to love touring cars and remember seeing David Leslie on several occasions.  Another very sad loss to the motor sport world.  :(
