Mosley to face FIA vote of confidence in June
« on: April 09, 2008, 04:29:26 PM »
The Extraordinary General Assembly of the FIA requested by President Max Mosley will take place on June 3. At it, Mosley, who asked for the meeting following the publication of allegations concerning his private life in the British press, will face a vote of confidence.

"The FIA can confirm that the members of the Senate have unanimously approved the proposal of the President of the FIA, that further to the recent press coverage relating to his private life, an Extraordinary General Assembly should be convened," said an FIA statement released on Wednesday.

"The meeting will be held on June 3, 2008, in Paris. The General Assembly will include a vote of confidence by secret ballot."

At least we have a date now but surely he has to go before that.

That's the Tuesday before Montreal. I know just the place to hold the hearing. It's a brand new five star hotel that was "built especially for the F1 crowd."

It's in downtown Indy. ;)

I can't see this assembly ever taking place.  Sandy heads will prevail (I hope) and either Bernie will toss Max out the door, or someone from the FIA will wake up from them snooze and realize that this isn't an issue that can wait 2 months to deal with.  I can't wait to see the manufacturer's responses!

Them should read 'their'....sorry, I got an ipod touch, and sometimes if I'm using the teeny weeny keyboard, it finishes off words for me, but with the wrong words.  Pretty nifty anyway.  Glad I didn't spend the extra Sfr 600.- so that it rings too.

The FIA don't get much choice. Short of convening a third Extraordinary General Meeting (which could not occur before May 14), the FIA cannot act without breaking its own Statutes. And Max isn't listening to the people who have told him to resign.

I still think Bernie will intervene.  If he can't personally convince Max to do the right thing, then he should come out against him in the media...losing Bernie's support will make a lot of heads turn, maybe even Max's.

I was just thinking that it is strange that Bernie hasn't intervened before now.  It occurs to me that if the two had worked so closely for so many years, that Max may have some dirty laundry of Bernie's that Bernie can't afford to be made public...

He has, Bernie was disguised and in striped fatigues.
