Fantastic result and even the commentators, let alone the other teams just didn't see it coming.

The boys who stopped at the same time as Danica just couldn't resist putting the pedal to the metal, obviously it took a calmer, female, approach to execute a clever strategy and play the waiting game. Danica and the team richly deserve the win. :yahoo:

I stayed up until 2:00 am Friday night to watch the race. When it was re-scheduled for Saturday, it moved from ESPN2 to ESPN Classic. Time Worthless cable didn't carry it.

Stuck thinks Danica would be good for F1...would this lead to Grid Boys?  Seriously, this was her first win.  Win a championship or two and then see how things go.  From a marketing standpoint, he has made a good case - no question the US would be thrilled with her, and she looks great on camera, but it would be a shame if she was just sweeping the track at the back of the grid.

From F1 Live:

Former Grand Prix driver Hans-Joachim Stuck is convinced that Danica Patrick, the first female competitor to win a race in premier American open wheeler racing, would be a good addition to the Formula One grid.

26-year-old Patrick drove into the history books last Sunday by beating Helio Castroneves to the chequered flag in the IndyCar race at Motegi, Japan.

"It is quite clear that, with Danica, Formula One could conquer the United States.

"She is good enough for it," Stuck is quoted as saying by the German magazine Sport Bild.

Stuck, however, believes Patrick would need a season in GP2, as well as some F1 testing, before making the leap.

Sport Bild claims that Flavio Briatore, the Renault boss, has contemplated making contact with Patrick in view of a Formula One collaboration of some sort.
