What the heck is up with Kimi?
« on: May 26, 2008, 06:51:15 PM »
What the heck is up with Kimi - a 2xWDC - and his lack of pace?

Massa literally creamed his WDC teammate yesterday.

Kimi was not looking very championesque in a car that should have come second, or with Felipe's one mistake, given him the lead.  Hamilton passed on the start.  I didn't see it on the TV coverage, but he messed up his front wing somehow and just never pushed forward really.

He did do a superb job in controlling the crash - too bad it took out Sutil.  It could have been and likely would have been a red flag had it been almost anyone else in the cockpit.

All in all however, his race was really an uncharacteristic piece of garbage.  Is he suffering some sort of problem?
Is it about the rumor of Fred going to Ferrari in 2010?

Just a thought, but, lack of TC in the wet?

I'd have thought that if there was one driver who wouldn't be bothered by the lack of TC it would be Kimi.

I suspect the problems last Sunday were elsewhere.

Nice to see you back again jb.

I agree.  I think Ferrari blew the set up on both cars.  Either that or they forecast the weather wrong.

Just ask Alonso, "Which one," He'd reply.

Well, for me, it isn't just about this race.

Massa, while behind in the points by a miniscule single point, has pretty much beaten Kimi in reality.  He has 4 poles in 6 races.  He has, in the races he finished out performed Kimi if Kimi didn't win.

I read something just today that suggests that it may have to do with Kimi thinking of retirement.  He is quoted as saying that he likes the driving, but the other things in the contract that have nothing to do with racing . . .  He says they are not what he is all about.

I am wondering if this is what is actually going on.
