Ian Fleming Centenary
« on: May 27, 2008, 03:14:39 PM »
Wednesday, 28 May, 2008 is the 100th anniverary of the birth of Ian Fleming. Fleming, of course, was the creator of James Bond.

Bond first appeared in the 1953 novel "Casino Royale." It is said that Fleming took the name from the author of a birding guide that was on his desk at the time.

A new Bond novel will be published in honor of the day.

A bit of trivia: How many Aston Martins have the producers of the Bond films bought over the years?

One. the one for Goldfinger. Following the flood of publicity that resulted from that film, A-M gave them the cars used in all the following films.

Serve him right, wrecking an Aston. Only joking really, hope he's ok, honestly.

That's sad to hear. Hope the stuntman recovers.

I'd bet a million £'s that in reality Her Maj would have loved to have gone out with a gun a few times for certain people.
