A museum dedicated to the life of Swedish racing driver Ronnie Peterson has opened in his home town of Orebro.

Almost 30 years after Peterson lost his life following a crash at the 1978 Italian Grand Prix, the permanent exhibition celebrates the life of the driver who captured the hearts of so many fans.

The exhibition follows Peterson's life and features much of his original racing kit and cars. Including in the exhibition is a Lotus 72/9 that has been lent to the museum by Classic Team Lotus, run by Colin Chapman's son Clive.

Michael Olsson, head of the museum, said about the Lotus: "This is the car that so many people associate with Ronnie's Formula One career, and that is why we were so eager to be able to display this car at the museum."

Further details of the museum, which officially opened last weekend, can be found at www.ronniepetersonmuseum.com

It is really great to see the Superswede remembered in such a fitting way, thanks Steven for sharing the news.
