Serve them right, those mechanics work bloody hard.
An aircraft landing is just a controlled crash.

How about a vibrating seat?Communication in the pits is by eye contact by the drivers , on the orders sent out by a lollipop or other, devices depending on the team.

Vocal orders can, and are ,subject between members of the team, where noise can and does, bring problems.
A vibrating seat cushion would i think? solve these communication problems.
If a driver did not move until he felt the vibration in his seat pad, a great deal of the communications problems would be solved.

I know you will all think this is a mad idea?but i hope some teams will pick up the idea and donate to GWizard.

What they need is a system like I used in the Army on rifle ranges.... and electronic set of headphones.... they cut the very loud noises to a very dull background noise and people talking normally (no yelling) can be heard perfectly, the headphones amplify the voices.

Just a thought

What they need is for drivers to follow whatever system the team decides to use and not decide to make up one of their own in the middle of the race without warning. Though I like the Stig's solution for pit lane communication.

The Electronic Noise Cancelling (ENC) headsets that Rom mentioned have become very common in aviation. Some firms, like Bose, even make them for the consumer market. It would seem like F1 would have gone that route long ago, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

A Tens machine to the buttocks should be enough.
