Does F1 need the FIA?

Yes they are a benefit.
No they are of no benefit.
Does the FIA need F1 more that F1 needs the FIA?

I would be surprised if any cutting-edge operation benefits from a massive, expensive, international and centralised management set-up.
Then consider the FIA which is also corrupt, biased and full of massive egos and I cannot see how it will ever provide benefits to F1.

I couldn't have put it better myself.... F1 will always be King.... it's the politics that I hate.... and the racing, the machines..... that's what it is all about.... for several hours every couple of weeks for most of the year I am in heaven....

Rom

Steady on Rom, I agree with most of what you say but racing is what it's all about without the competition of racing we wouldn't have the machines we all cherish so much.

Are you suggesting we just have time trials instead of races?

Sorry John.... I just re-read what I typed.... the message is all there... but my punctuation leaves alot to be desired.  The racing and machines are what I love about F1, the politics and only the politics is what I hate.

Sorry I posted a rather ambiguous statement....

Rom
