2009 IndyCar US TV schedule

The Indy Racing League has announced its US television schedule for next season. The IRL had previously revealed its ten-year agreement with the VERSUS cable network. Vs will get at least 13 IRL races per year. They will have a 3 hour race window, preceded by an hour highlight and pre-race show. The remainder of the season, including The Indianapolis 500, will be on ABC.

qualifying and races online next year?

I haven't heard anything definite about web-casts yet, but it seems likely. VERSUS is available in far fewer households than ESPN, who had the races this season. Viewership was up 21.4% this year over the 2007 season.

This isn't the first venture into racing for VERSUS. The network, formerly called Outdoor Life Network, carries the Dakar every year. It also was the US outlet for the first season of A1GP.

\versus used to be on TVU but I don't see it on the channel list any more.
