Most improved driver

Who do you think the most improved driver
is this season?

I first thought Massa but after a second thought
mine has to be Vettel. To take a STR and win a race[granted a little
luck with the rain]and to beat a ChampCar Series Champion so
easily makes him my pick

Absolutely.  Vettel is the most consistently improved driver IMHO

no doubt at all it has to be SV but then it appears he was always that good

who else could do what he has consistently done this year with his STR car and as Dare says humble SB a four time Champ car champion [and no slouch either]?

this guy appears to have it all and not only MW has to watch out next year as this guy has WDC quality in spades

another LH perhaps?

just has to have a package worthy of his talent

Most improved driver ? It's got to be Vettell.  How long has this guy been in F1 ? ;)

Lewis hasn't improved. He was always brilliant and there's no improving on brilliance. We need to remember that this is only his second season in F1.

Massa has mellowed, not improved. He was always quick but totally erratic. These days he is less erratic, and by his own admittance he has the best car.

Is this going to be the Vettell - Hamilton decade ?

Vettel, by all means. I hope RBR can put him in a good car next season. In a few years, I think I'll be bragging about having seen his first F1 race in person. I cant believe that it was just last June that he was walking around at the USGP and almost no one recognised him!

Bear in mind McLaren have a Scottish driver on their books who took the Euro F3 title from Vettel when they were team mates.

I think there would be a good case for declaring Vettel the most improved driver of the season. Honorary mentions go to Timo Glock and Felipe Massa.

Yes he is. And just think - it took him four races in 2008 to complete a lap...

Agreed that Vettel has made the greatest leap forward in 08 (should tell CH that he wants to stay with Ferrari engined STR). Glock though is improving by chunks and Sutil in a better package will be a force (Damn you Kimi).
Poor ol Piquet needs to get away from Alonso's Bitch position ASAP

I don't think Piquet Jr will need to wait very long to get away from Alonso's feet. From Wednesday, I believe he will no longer be an F1 driver at all...

As of season end, it has to be Vettel as all have said.

But if this was asked half way through,  I may have answered, Sutil.

So whose career is going to be destroyed by Fernando next? (I mean the poor unfortunate taking the No2 seat at Renault)

I am no longer convinced that Piquet is going anywhere.  The obvious person to replace him was Lucas Di Grassi as he is the Renault test driver and Carlos Slim Helu insists on a South American driver.  However Briatore has just released him to test for Honda suggesting that he does not have a guaranteed future at Renault.  So unless there is another South American in the frame for a Renault seat next season Piquet will have the drive.
