A little bit of history

Mark Twain once opined, "it's easier to con someone than to convince them they've been conned."

Damon certainly did look different without the beard.

Thats a shot from the Graham Hill documentary  "Driven." I have searched everywhere for it, it was superb.

That's a famous photo.  I have lost count of the number of times I have seen it.  I bet Clark was quicker on that tractor than anyone else.

Or maybe "What a Dog!" It beat out Days of Thunder as the worst racing movie ever.

Compared to Driven,Days of Thunder is a Oscar winner.Just goes to
show you steroids and open wheel racing don't go together

Seeing how we started off with 3 world champions then ended up with
a  dog of a movie Driven, why not switch over to your personal favorite car movie.

That said I'll take Grand Prix, while the plot may be a bit soap operary the
racing scenes are the best IMO ever filmed

+1 LeMans and even Winning are not too bad but Grand Prix, while a bit overdramatic, has excellent racing scenes.

I agree, Lonny. All three are great, and Grand Prix is the best. I was 12 when I first saw it, on a wrap-around Cinerama screen. There hadn't been anything like it. The in-car shot going around the Grand Hotel hairpin early in the film was breathtaking.

A little know film to look for is the 1953 The Fast and the Furious. Nothing like the recent tuner car film. Not much of a plot, but the cars make the film worth watching. John Ireland is driving an XK-140. There are plenty of other seldom seen early sports cars in the film, like a Jowett Jupiter and a Nash Healey. Plenty of MG TC's and TD's, and even an early TR 2.
