Toyota Seaweed car
« on: February 27, 2009, 10:39:13 AM »
That's right, you too could be driving around in your very own Kelp Machine as Toyota pushes ahead to become the greenest of the green. The only snag is that you may have to wait 15 years.  :fool:

The seaweed motor will be built upon the exsiting 1/X plug-in hybrid concept which uses carbon-fibre and already weighs in at a featherweight 926lbs. The new car would swap out that carbon-fibre for bioplastics based on seaweed.

What name would you give a car made of seaweed?

I can't see Plankton catching on but how about plain old  "Wee'd" after all we have had the KIA Cee'd so why not the Toyota Wee'd. You never know it might replace blinged up Beamers and Utes with the boys from the 'hood.

Many of the better nautical names have already been used. (Sting Ray, Barracuda)

Since Toy likes names that start with the letter c (Corolla, Celica, Corona, Crown), how about the Toyota Carp?
