Monaco KERS for Ferrari & McLaren
« on: May 15, 2009, 12:41:42 PM »

Even the lack of straights on Monaco's F1 layout has not convinced Ferrari and McLaren to drop KERS for the Principality's famous Grand Prix next weekend.

Renault and BMW, on the other hand, have decided against fitting the energy recovery technology to their cars on the twisty confines of the street circuit.

"I would like to see the simulation (showing) that in Monaco you are faster with KERS," Renault's Pat Symonds is quoted as saying by Auto Motor und Sport.

Is that the same simulation that proves Barichello can win Spain on three stops?

Can't see that KERS will give anything in Monaco, dragging the extra weight round them tight corners. Looks like another miserable weekend for the mighty Ferrari. I have a great cost cutting measure, FORGET KERS!!

This is probably the same simulator that says that Ferrari can't do much without KERS whatever the circuit so they might as well leave it on-board. Quite why McLaren have borrowed the same simulator when it would surely make them slower remains a mystery.
