A wry & witty take on the FOM/FIA/FOTA relationship

In this piece from The Daily Telegraph online the reporter gives us a glimpse at the black hearts, which still need the power rush, behind the F1 circus.

I love the 1st two paragraphs,Kevin Garside is just saying what we're all thinking. F1 will be nothing without the top teams racing. Bernie and Max need to get this whole mess sorted before its to late.

I get the feeling from reading this that in a split, the winner will be who provides fans the best opportunities.

If Bernie is going to cling to empty grandstands in Turkey and Malaysia... seems like a forgone conclusion.

sure looks that way to me Jericoke - when will Bernie and co reduce their fees and ticket prices?

all in the spirit of keeping a cap on F1!

Garside is an idiot if he thinks Max and Bernie will win this one.  The evidence of just how scared they are is in their statements regarding Silverstone.  Suddenly they're saying there will be a British GP at the circuit next year, if Donington doesn't make the cut (which it won't).  Now, I wonder what changed their minds...

If Max and Bernie can tell which way the wind blows, and then actually go with it, they can succeed.  I know they've looked like asses through this whole process, but they didn't get where they are by being complete 'loonies' either.

Right now, my fear is a 2010 season that is a disaster, and hopefully things fixed for 2011.

Bernie said that because he always knew Silverstone would be a back-up, but would never say it out loud.  Now that he sees that Silverstone may be taken next year by the breakaway (and they would likely add to their contract that theirs would be an exclusive engagement - i.e. no F1 allowed), he is running scared and wants to make sure Silverstone knows that he would be interested if Donington fails (as it seems it will).
