Adelaide on breakaway list, no Melbourne'

Indy,Imola,Canada,Mexico City woo hoo bring it on might even get ol
Maxy to like F1 again  when he sees how it should be run

Tuesday 23rd June 2009   Planet F1

Melbourne, which has a contract to host Formula One races, is reportedly not being consider as a possible venue should FOTA press ahead with their breakaway plans.

An alleged blueprint of FOTA's breakaway series' possible calendar, which was leaked to German journalist over the course of the British GP weekend, claims that the new Championship could start in Buenos Aires and end at Adelaide in November.

But, should Adelaide not be in a position or even willing to host a round of the series, Surfers Paradise as a reserve track, with no mention being made of Melbourne, which hosts the Australian F1 Grand Prix.

"Not surprisingly Adelaide because it was very, very popular when it had Formula One," motor racing consultant Mike Drewer told ABC Online.

"Adelaide's been listed on a theoretical calendar but it's a bit like trying to work out who might be the members of a cabinet if there was a change in government."

Some of these venues may need to be upgraded to be taken seriously. I'm surprized FOTA would consider tracks that are not up to current F1 standards.

Personally I would hope for Surfers Paradise... I could goto that race.... every single year it was on.... only a 1 hour drive from brisbane...

The only things missing are Spa and Monza!

Sadly, I think Dare is correct. This is most likely a wish list.

yeah Willy, a mouth watering list that sadly [and gladly as well] will not happen now the parties have agreed  to continue with F1

and,as Rom wrote, Surfers Paradise would be perfect as it is a great technical track , [a pacific 'Monaco'], less than ten minutes drive from my Gold Coast home.
