2010 Schedule
« on: August 01, 2009, 07:50:14 PM »
The IRL has announced the races on its 2010 calendar. There are two more road courses, Rio de Janeriro and Barber Motorsports Park. There are two fewer ovals, Richmond and Milwaukee. The Milwaukee Mile, the oldest active circuit in the world, could reappear should an event promoter emerge. If that happens, it will return to its traditional date on the weekend after the Indy 500.

Road courses now outnumber ovals 9 to 8. The ovals are arranged in two groups of four.

Dates TBA this week-end:

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - R
St. Petersburg, Florida - R
Birmingham, Alabama - R
Long Beach, California - R
Kansas City, Kansas - O
Indianapolis, Indiana - O
Fort Worth, Texas - O
Newton, Iowa - O
Watkins Glen, New York - R
Toronto, Ontario, Canada - R
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada - R
Lexington, Mid-Ohio - R
Sonoma, California - R
Chicago, Illinois - O
Sparta, Kentucky - O
Motegi, Japan - O
Homestead, Florida - O

thanks cossie, what a mouth watering schedule it is too - I would absolutely love to spectate a few of the road courses and Indy. The latter for its history although oval circuit 'racing' just leaves me cold.

The Detroit street circuit is still missing, but hopes to return in 2011. The continuing economic problems in Michigan is the reason for the absence.
