Grand Am Tests at Indy
« on: September 08, 2009, 04:23:08 PM »
The Rolex Grand Am series tested at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway late last week. The Grand Am is NASCAR's version of sports endurance racing.

This was the first time cars ran on the road course since it was modified for MotoGP. I found a couple of thing interesting about the tests. The cars ran clockwise like F1 did, rather than counter-clockwise like the bikes. The cars didn't use the new section that by-passes Turn 13 (Turn 1 on the oval) and instead drops down by the museum.

Most importantly, both The Speedway and Grand Am kept referring to it as "the Formula One circuit" in the press. Maybe there's still hope for the USGP!  :yahoo:

An aircraft landing is just a controlled crash.
