Dixon Takes Lead as Briscoe Slips
« on: September 19, 2009, 06:04:10 PM »
last night at the Japan Indy 300 form twin ring motegi Dixon started out strong leading with teammate and title contender Franchitti, Briscoe the points leader was slowly slipping down and by the first pit stops he was down to 5th, But pitting late and just beating a yellow when entering the pits put him up to the lead. When exiting the pits there was no one around him , no one to race out, and no one on track to beat him to the lead, but he still pushed out and gave the car to much wheel spin putting him into the pit exit wall and collecting a cone on his way to the wall. After many repairs and much time in the pits he fell to 19th 15 laps back. Dixon went on to win with Franchitti behind him for second.

Dixon now leads the championship by 5 points over Dario Franchitti, Briscoe fell from first to 3rd and is 8 points behind Dixie going into the last race of the season in Miami.
