Turkey Heroes and Zeros

FIRST!  :yahoo:

Heroes:

- Hamilton and Button for a great demonstration of how to race your teammate.
- Webber, for displaying an incredible amount of diplomacy on the interview podium.

Zeros

- Vettel ..... 'nuff said!  >:D

Kimi's back! Future double WDC.

Hero's.

Same as Darrell, but special mention for Sauber for getting both cars home and one in the points.

Petrov for staying ahead of Alonso as long as he did.

Zeroes.

Vettel, as much for his post race behaviour as being the cause of the accident.

Horner for taking Vettel's side post race without first hearing from Mark.

Ferrari and Merc for coming to the race unprepared.

Heroes:

Webber - a good drive, a good recovery and a good job of holding his tongue after the race.

Hamilton & Button - for NOT taking each other out.

Petrov - For giving Schumi all he could handle.

Sauber - 1st point for the new team!

Zeroes:

Vettel - He let the red mist get to him.

I don't think Horner was so much siding with Vettel as he was trying to be noncommittal.

In the interview on German TV, he pointedly said that Mark didn't give Vettel enough room (i.e. he didn't move over).

Heroes

Webber - for keeping his cool in the post-race interviews

Kobayashi - for getting a Sauber home in the points.

Schumacher - it was a low-key race, but he took a slow Mercedes and turned it into a car that would have won had McLaren and Webber been slightly less lucky in their respective crashes.

Zeroes

Vettel - Ted's question "What were they thinking?!?" is a good one. While I can just about understand what might have caused Mark to leave a gap in the first place, I cannot understand why Vettel suddenly veered right. I'm not sure he does either.

Charlie Whiting - for starting the race before the backmarkers had lined up on the grid. That's dangerous, especially in a place like Turkey where first-corner pile-ups are already as common as rain at Spa.

Petrov - what was with that start?

Hero's

Hamilton-taking advantage of Vette''s blunder
              to take the win

Schumacher-nice 4th which is one spot higher
than he probably thought he could
                  achieve

Mclaren-for closing the gap on Red Bull

Petrov-fast lap might make Alonso wonder if
he made the right decision on heading to
          Ferrari

the race-couldn't call this one boring

Zero's

Vettel-I thought Sato had gone to IRL,stupid
move that cost Webber points he needs
         in the WDC fight

Ferrari-what's up with them?I really think it's
           the Italian involvement causing this

Horner-for being a prat and taking up for
           Vettel.Must make Webber ponder his
           future at Red Bull

Eddie Jordon-for his brilliant insight of the Vettel
                   blunder on BBC

Another Zero is the love-fest among the pit wall RBR crew and Vettel before they had even heard Mark's side of the story.  Horner should have sent him back over to the garage to look at replays and THEN make up a story.

Heroes

As much as it pains me to say......The McLaren boys for showing how it should be done.

Mark Webber for keeping his cool when others lost theirs. If one of the Ferrari boys can't do it then your my man for the 2010 WDC.

Michael Schumacher, great race from the old master.

Zeroes

Vettel the finger swirling arse.

Red Bull for blaming the wrong guy.

Ferrari, where were you guys??

Petrov-fast lap might make Alonso wonder if
he made the right decision on heading to
          Ferrari

In context, even a Lotus could've set a fast lap with fresh tires and no gasoline.

Congrats to Petrov for sticking to it though!

Yeah but it looks to me if Renault are showing
more pace than Ferrari now.

Correct. Liuzzi (starting 18th) was still braking for his grid slot when the lights went out. In effect the last six drivers got a rolling start. Luckily they seemed as surprised as everyone else, so they ended up, if anything, slower than normal in getting going. Otherwise the consequences could have been messy.

A new way to make the race interesting!  The top 10 cars have to start from a grid slot, while 11 through 24 get a rolling start...

Unfortunately it's quite a dangerous way of making starts more exciting - Ricardo Paletti was killed back in 1982. Part of the grid was still moving when the green lights came on and the ensuing crash resulted from backmarkers piling into people who'd qualified further ahead.
