The Spirit of America-Sonic Arrow is for sale. The car, designed for speed in the 800 to 900 mph range, was to have been driven by the late Steve Fossett. It was designed by Craig Breedlove.

The car is powered by a single modified General Electric J-79 turbojet once used in the USAF Phantom II fighter-bomber and F-104 Starfighter. The engine generates more than 18,400 pounds of supersonic thrust with afterburner and water injection.
