Oh sorry!  I thought the idea was to try and answer the question.

If that upsets you I'll happily go on my way.

Good bye

d-type the last post from Wats-on who started this great quiz thread was in November 2011. Since it was his quiz and he suddenly stopped posting the rest of us on GP Wizard simply left the game as it stood.

I think it was a surprise that someone should post an answer two years later. There's plenty of reason to stay with us d-type, so I hope you do.

The thread may have been dormant for about 18 months but it is a "sticky" which suggests that the moderator considers it is a good thread and would welcome contributions.  If you do not want people to contribute you should say so on the thread or better still close it.
What you do not do is make a sarcastic response to someone's first posting.

With respect d-type, I'm certain it wasn't sarcastic. It was written in positive surprise that the post had re-activated with your post, so take some credit, not the opposite.

I'm sure Lonnie won't mind me inferring this from his post, put me right if I'm wrong!

To be honest, as the thread is a 'sticky' I hadn't noticed the date when I posted - I only did when it was pointed out.
Bearing that in mind I'm sure you can understand why I was a bit put out by the response I received.

Yes it was.
I go through the rigmarole of signing on to the forum.
I carefully phrase a tricky quiz answer - and what response do I get?

I now know that the previous post was 18 months ago, which I had not noticed at the time I posted.  So I took the response as a personal dig at me. hence the acid reply.

d-type, nobody, but nobody, has personal digs at anybody on this site. Why do you think most of us have been on here for years ? It's because it's friendly, I think you must have taken it the wrong way. None of us has EVER had to apologise to another member yet because we do NOT get personal !!!!!

You misunderstood the sarcasm d-type - it wasn't aimed at you, but at the long lost thread - the thread went on for well over a year with our friend Wats-On asking more and more trivial questions on F1.  It sort of died out about 18mths ago, and I think Lonny was joking that the thread rose from the dead...nothing aimed at you at all.
