New Quiz - who knows all?
« on: March 07, 2011, 09:32:27 AM »
Hi everybody.

I've been thinking a while and am planning to do a quiz.

Rules are as follows.
1. I ask a question. Correct answer within 24 hours is rewarded with 3 points. Correct answer within 48 hours: 2 points, within 72 hours: 1 point.
2. Only the first correct answer will be counted as correct.
3. Do not answer twice after each other - wait untill somebody else has responded.
4. All the answers can be found on Internet.
5. I get no points when an answer is incorrect.
6. I will give a hint every now and then.
7. I start with simple questions, they will get more difficult over time.
8. Scored points will be visible with every new question.

So. The first question:
How many different World Champions have there been up till 2010?

32 is correct.

New standings:
Ikjohnson1950: 3 points

New question:
Who is, on alphabetic order, the last driver who scored any points and how many points are that?

re-phrase the question...I don't understand it.  It's like you're asking for one driver, but have thrown in the 'alphabetical order' which would mean you want more than one driver.  Is this all regarding the 2010 season?

Ok, I'll try again. You're right, it is not really a great question as it as.

If you look at all drivers in alphbatic order, who of them is the last you see who has scored any points? Not specific 2010, all years.

Yes, Zanardi scored a point. But Zorzi is even further down the alphabet. So again 3 points for Lonny.

New standings:
Ikjohnson1950: 6 points

Mmm... makes me wonder if it is not too easy...

New question
Okay, this is more difficult...
To whom or what belong the next statistics?

18 Grands Prix
13 points
7 no starts
3 seasons
2 fastests laps
2 podiums
1 constructor
1 win

Good luck. The answer is on the net...

HINT
It's not a driver and it's not a team you should be looking for.

Too late, I figured that out last night at the expense of some sleep   :swoon:

So that leaves you a carmodel, tyres, engines, that kind of stuff.

Tomorrow morning (GMC) I will give a strong and last hint.

The Weslake V12 powered the Eagle F1 team from 1966 – 1968, for 18 races, scoring 1 win, 2 podiums, 2 fastest laps, and 13 points.  :D

Apparently a Weslake V12 was also installed in a Brabham BT39 in 1972 and was tested but never raced

I guess you found my source...   :( Answer is correct, even more then that!

New standings:
Ikjohnson1950: 6 points
Cam: 2 points

New question.
How many carmakes in the F1 World Championship have been raced from 1950 up till now that have been made in the UK? I don't count Indy 500 1950-1960 and I only need to know the make, not the model.

Depends on how you classify teams like Renault, which is a French team, but the cars are built in Enstone. Or similarly, Lotus, which is a Malaysian team, but the cars are built in England.  :DntKnw:
