Award multiple checker flags, and pick a name from a hat for the choice of the three final prizes...which are usually equally amazing anyhow.   :good: :good:

Either that, or take their scores or placement in the Advent Competition to determine the top three.  :D

I hate the whole straws in a hat thing.... gives too many opportunities for people to say it's fake (and I know for a fact it isn't), Personally, I'd got with a 'count back' style.  Who scored the highest individual race score with no double up, and if there is a tie, the next highest score and so on until you have your winner.  But, that's just me.

Well done to all 3 of you.  You've all done a fantastic job to be on top

So from down under, well done on top

Take it easy guys and gals... and we'll be seeing eachother around the posts.

That's my 2 cents worth.

As you can see from the above scoring we have a tie for the championship between Canada Darrell, Jugirl and Dare.

I have decided (with much thought and discussion) to award the championship and prizes as follows:

1. All three top members will be announced as joint Grid Game Champions and will receive a trophy and be awarded the Grid Game championship flags for the year.

2. The three members names will be drawn independently and fairly to determin the order of prize giving.

My wholehearted congratulations go to all three of you for achieving such high scores in a very competitive and closely fought game. This has certainly been the closest game ever and the most exciting!

Well done to every member who took part in the Grid Game, without you we would have no game at all.

Watch out for the announcement of the prizes.

I was going to suggest a game of Intercontinental Odd Man.  ;)

Well done, Ju, Darrell & Dare!  :yahoo: May you carry the flags well.

A big thank you to Wizzo, Dare & Rom for making the Grid Game possible.

Wow, not just a tie, but a THREE way tie!  What a great game.  I think this is the first time in the history of the site that there has been a tie of any kind in the GG.  I agree that we simply have three champions this year.  I wish I was one of them, but watch out in the advent comp, I'm going to be burning the midnight oil to try to win it this year.

Congratulations to Jugirl, Dare and Darrell!  Can't wait to see what the prizes are.

Since this has happened once, we will have to figure out a way to avoid a tie in the future, or come up with a good tie breaker.  I kinda like Darrell's idea of looking at Pole positions, but there is always the chance that it would also not break the tie.  Rom had a good point to also consider the highest one race score.  Another option, which I've been kinda pushing for the past couple of years is at the start of the season, we have to bet both a WCC and WDC in advance of the first race.  If not for points, then maybe for a tie break?

There's my 2 cents - Congrats again to everyone for taking part, for our three worthy champions, to Dare and Rom for designing and running a fantastic game and of course our leader Wizzo for giving us the place to play it along with his insanely generous prizes, and in fact the entire community where we've all made friends in our love of a crazy sport called F1.

Thanks to Wizzo, Dare and Rom for running the comp (Bernie should take a lesson from you on diplomacy and organistaion).

Congratulations to the winners.

My technical team is at work as we speak, developing next year's system.

Team Sprite is on the way up

Congratulations to the Champions!
Wizzo's solution to the 3 way tie is well thought out and fair, well done and Kudos.
There are ways that different series sort out ties, ie; most wins etc., so in the future maybe we can borrow some ideas and publish the system before the start of the season.

I have to blame the DRS on my poor showing this season, I thought F1 was all about not allowing overtaking so that everyone finishes in their qualifying position, and for the first time in memory that didn't happen this year.
I would especially like to thank the 5 contestants that finished behind me. Without their efforts I would be crying even harder  :'(

Looking forward to 2012....

I think the lack of rain and Vettel's problems were the major
factor in the final results.Ju and I were up the creek with no paddles :o
