Not sure if there's many tennis fans out there, but anyway, Del Potro vs. Federer meet in the QF in about 4 hours give or take. Could be the game of the tourney. Potro back to form after his wrist injury - from his demeanour and general ambivalence it looks like it could have been caused by rolling too many spliffs - but his actions speak differently. Monster forehand back in effect. Federer his usual accomplished self, and should win, probably will. Nevertheless, this is a golden age of men's tennis, incredibly high standard, with Potro snapping at the heels of the big four (if you count Murray). This could be a major upset. Or not. Either way, it's gonna be a great match. Only problem is that it's at 4am!

Ah come on.  Federer slaughtered him.  6-4, 6-3, 6-2.   :P :P  'Atta boy, Roger!   :good: :good:  Murray, Nadal, Novak - there's going to be some good matches as usual.   :good:

I think David is a big tennis fan as well Vintly.

The Fed did rather walk over him - hardly a classic - let's hope my Grid Game predictions are slightly more accurate. Potro's one of these big guys who look like they've got the whole game, maybe he'll start making finals again, then again maybe he'll never recapture his 2009 form - hard to tell. He might do a Phillipoussis and gradually slide into obscurity.

Ah well, as you say, good matches to come, and nice to know there's a tennis fan or two about. Cheers.

:DntKnw: Nope not me, I think our old and much missed friend Williamsfan was.

Only interest I have in tennis is hearing that Andy Murray has been beat. Can stand that jump up twit.

I was just weighing up my dislike for Murray vs my dislike for Henman - wondered who would win in a fight. Blindfold, with old wooden raquets as weapons. Prolly Murray, after a while. Then I was thinking who would win between Nadal and Djoko (clearly Fed would find a reasonable excuse not to fight). I suspect Nadal would start throwing combinations before Djoko knew what was happening - then Hewitt would appear out of nowhere and knife them both. Thoughts?
