It's a very good idea. Updates are often made to repair security flaws in such programs.

There is a neat little program called Secunia PSI that will track all your programs and tell you when they need updating.

Cheers Lonny, Avast usually does that for me, but not knowing much about computers I'm not sure which ones to update.  :-[

One more thing to say: if anything other than Avast (or, if you change it, whatever antivirus you have installed) prompts you to update Flash or Java, politely refuse, go to your antivirus software and update it there. Some unpleasant people create fake "update dialogues" that go to dodgy files and/or sites, but Avast will always give you the correct link.

Thanks Ali, rest assured, if any site I'm on advises me to do this or that I never do it.  :good:

Are sure about it Ian? Can resist the temptation of a pretty face, a glipse of curve, a sneak peak into the bodacious bosom ;)

I can't be bothered with all that stuff now BD, I'd sooner appreciate seeing a pretty girl walking down the road.  ;)

Has anyone tried a good game server that they would recommend? I'm currently not satisfied with mine. I've come across this one, but I would like to hear from people who have used it first before investing. Any thoughts?

I don't know much about game servers but I've had experience with 1 and 1 and it wasn't good.

I host several websites with Tsohost and I can't speak highly enough about them, (I am in no way connected to them). Reliability has been 100% and their support is second to none. They pick up the phone almost instantly and I've actually had several problems, (that I've caused), fixed within minutes or whilst still on the phone. I think they say their average fix time is 15 minutes and I can well believe it.

More info here

Well worth a look.

On another note is anyone getting the Windows 10 upgrade?

The sooner I can ditch Windows 8, the better.
