How could someone prove that they never watch BBC programmes?

That's a bit like saying anyone with a car capable of reaching more than the national motorway speed limit (70mph) must at sometime exceed it, so every year all car owners must pay a fixed penalty speed ticket as they can't prove otherwise.   :D

The shocking thing is that is exactly what the TV licence collectors do, >:(  and yet you still want to argue it's not a tax. Well if you're right then it's just plain highway robbery.

Why not have a referendum on whether the public wants to continue with this regulated mass funding of the BBC? I won't mind which way the result goes, but at least it will be established democratically rather than by bureaucrats and politicians.

I'd call it a tax too, if you don't pay your income tax you get a criminal record, if you don't get a tv licence you get a criminal record.  :P

Just read in the paper that the BBC are considering the politically correct Stephen Fry as a replacement for Jeremy Clarkson.
RIP TOP GEAR.

I've also seen that there's a move for Alan Partridge to get the seat. I have nothing against Mr. Fry, but does he know anything about cars? The best suggestion I've heard was Eddie Jordan.

I've heard that Jay Leno is between jobs.

Anybody but Clarkson.

Stephen Fry is apparently a petrol head, but I can't stand him.

One of the biggest 'petrol head's' in North America, if not THE biggest.

And he's a lot funnier than Clarkson.

Leno Scott ? Must be American/Canadian humour, I've never found Leno funny at all.

I've never found Clarkson that funny.  Doesn't matter now anyhow, because now the two little lapdogs called Hammond and May are refusing to tape anymore episodes without their master.

So be it.  I guess Top Gear is now dead because Clarkson didn't get his hot meal.  What a retard.   |-( |-( |-( |-(  Defend him all you guys like but now there will probably never again be another Top Gear.  I don't think I will bother to watch an imitation on ITV or wherever.  Maybe they'll join Sky and just be on Pay TV.

Scott, I know who Leno is,  ::)  my point is it's a show made by the BBC for a British TV audience that just happens to have a worldwide reach. I think if you stopped people in the street in Britain and asked the question - who he? - most would give you a blank stare.

Whilst I accept your right to comment about Clarkson I'm not sure with you being Canadian & living in Switzerland you fully appreciate what a big fan base Clarkson & Top Gear has in the UK.

Top Gear without Clarkson would be like trying to put a series of Dallas on TV without the Ewings.  :D

Sounds a bit sad.  Clarkson isn't responsible for most of the broadcast, yet without him it would be nothing?  :DntKnw: :DntKnw:
