Grid Game posting Two
« on: March 15, 2013, 01:59:48 PM »
Wizzo has the new automated game up and going again.
I know it's a bit of trouble but for the first race put your picks
in the automated and the regular gg betting picks in the forum.

The automated will be the official picks with the forum posts a
backup just in case.If your picks don't match the automated
picks will count.

If I goes well we'll use the automated picks in the future.

All betting now will have a 1 hour deadline before the start
of qualifying the race picks.

Any questions ask Wiz or me

Dare, do you mean we have to pick our race grid before quali too.

You can if you want to Ian as a banker but all being well you should be able to change your race picks after pole.

We do not have time to test this hence why Dare is good enough to run with the traditional system as a backup.

Sorry I wasn't more clear Ian.We reverted  to the
one hour before the race starts as well as  1 hour before
qualifying.

The game stays the same except for the 4 point penality

Considering the advanced age of some of the players, isn't it asking a bit much to expect them to remember their picks long enough to repeat them in the other thread?  :P

Seriously, it will be cool to see how the new system works.

Cos, I always think of a line I read in a book...If you never wrote it down it never happened, so I've written them down as well.  :P  :P

Do our manual picks still count if we don't use the automated system?

It has been agreed that anyone who forgets to place their picks in both places will not be penalised as this would be unfair. Dare and I will simply adjust either scores accordingly.

However, if the automated Grid Game is successful then this will be the only way to place your picks in the future.

Thanks for the clarification.

In that case, please consider me to have 'forgotten' to use the new system for this one race, as I don't want to learn how to use it before I have to ;).

The new automated betting is almost a copy of the ss I've been using the past 5 years.Just I won't have to enter 20 something bets every race

:D.

I can do forum code though Ian, and I have played around with the admin panel in SMF in the past.  I'm just rubbish at drop down selection systems :D.
